Many activities are organised
at Casabella with a weekly schedule and special week
themes. For the pool special pool towels are provided
under deposit.
Horse Riding
Every day apart from Saturday
between 10 a.m. and 12 a.m. and 17 p.m. and 19 p.m.
Western and English riding, classes in the horsemanship
and walk in the vineyards and olive groves of the
mansion. If guests want to relax in the Tuscan
countryside, and to taste the emotions that a landscape
plunged in olive groves, vineyards, cypresses, wind
mills, country churches and castles will give them, a
horse ride will help to regenerate body and soul and to
catch the magic and unforgettable spirit of Tuscany.
Ceramic classes
Every Tuesday and Thursday evening
from 9.00 p.m. to 11 p.m. in the Ceramic School of
Monterifrassine. Adults and kids can show their
creativity and to make little objects or paint prepared
creations. A famous craftsman of the area will teach
everyone techniques and secrets to express one’s best.
Guest can take all their creations home with them.
Fauna and Flora walking (with aperitif)
Once a
week from 10.00 a.m. to 12.30 a.m. Guided by an expert environmental guide, guests will learn to recognise the flora and fauna of the Tuscan countryside. Cypresses, holm-oaks, beeches and olive trees, perfect for those with a passion for botany and the
environment in general. Guests will get to know the Tuscan landscape.
Cooking classes (with lunch)
Twice a week from 11.00 a.m. 1.00 p.m.
Guests begin their lesson picking fresh vegetables in the garden and feeding chickens and rabbits of the farm. Then they will learn the secrets of the Tuscan cuisine from the resident chef. The final test will be tasting everything they have cooked (lunch with wine included).
City bike in Florence
A stimulating bike tour among paths, alleys and little squares to discover the history ,myths and curiosities that inhabit the city of Florence.
Guided tour by mountain bike
Guided tour in the countryside to discover antique Etruscan roads, panoramic views of the Sieve Valley and Florence, pretty country churches, relaxing landscapes and the animals of the wood.
Mountain bike rental
At Podere Montefiesole, near the little country church, guests can rent bicycles and mountain bikes for adults and children.
Discovering the Chianti Rufina
Guests can visit the museum of the wine of Rufina (Villa di Poggio Reale) and discover the antique Tuscan country traditions and the history of Chianti Rufina wine. They can also taste from some of the most important cellars of the area . In this way they can see where this great wine is produced and how it is made.
Visit of the Oil Mill and Olive oil tasting: once a week or
more, depending on demand, guided tours are
organised of the the XVI Century Wind mill that belongs
to the farm. The wind mill has just been restored and was used to produce flours. The tradition producing organic
flours has been revived. The wind mill is now working and is opened to visitors. In the mill a miller will produce flours using the
ancient methods way and our baker will use them to cook organic bread, typical cakes
and biscuits.
During Specific seasons, such as
the wine or olive harvest, activities will be theme-
oriented. There will be special weeks such as the "Olive
oil week" with olive harvesting, oil tasting classes,
olive preparations and olive oil; "The Wine week", "The
Bread week", preparing the flour at the windmill and
making your own bread and probably "The Pig's week"
where our guests will learn how to prepare hams, salamis
and several pâtés.
The farm is only 18 Km. from Florence and is possible
to reach it by car (30 min. more or less), by train or
by coach. The nearest railway station is 7 Km. by car
far from Casabella. From Sieci’s railway station to
Firenze Santa Maria Novella (the main station in the
city) the way takes 20 minutes by train, and from Santa
Maria Novella station to the town center the way is 10
minutes walking. There is a train leaving from Sieci in
direction of Florence more or less every 40 minutes.
Siena and the neighbourhood are 80 km. far from
Casabella (almost 1 hour by motorway). Trains for Siena
leave from Florence railway station. Arezzo and Val di
Chiana are 60 km far from Casabella.

the city.
